FORT WORTH -- Nelda Emma Owen passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at her home in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home, led by her granddaughter, Rev. Erin Grant, and her granddaughter's husband, Rev. Rob Grant. Interment: Huckabay Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Suandy at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Nelda was born Nov. 1, 1922. She was the middle child of Oscar and Lura Price. She and her eight brothers and sisters were raised on their family's farm near Gunter. Nelda graduated from Gunter High School in 1941. At 20 she married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Owen. They had two children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Nelda was a member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. For many years, she was active with her husband in the Moslah Shrine Motor Corps. Nelda retired from International Service Life Insurance Company.
Nelda was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Robert, Weldon and Doyle Price; and sister, Maurine Orr.
