Jim was born in Dallas, Texas to Odis Jones Adair and Florine James Adair on January 4, 1932. He grew up an only child in Fort Worth, and due to his father being away from home all week as a traveling salesman, he began driving legally at age 14 after he applied for a hardship Driver’s License. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1948 at 16 years of age. He immediately enrolled at TCU and later transferred to SMU where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mathematics.

After 5 years there he moved to Bell Helicopter to set-up their computer programming department. Six years later he left Bell to start his own computer consulting business that he ran for the next 35 years.
He married Beverly Jane Still in 1954 and they were blessed with two sons. Jim was a devoted Christian, serving as Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and Treasurer at various churches over the years, but he always considered First Baptist Hurst as home and spent many years worshipping there until he was unable to attend due to declining health.

He is survived by his sons Jay, and wife Barbie, Cary, and wife Karen, granddaughter Shelbi Goodman and husband Charlie of Austin, Texas, grandson John Adair of Knoxville, Iowa, and great-grandson Stetson Adair.
