Bubba was born in Hamilton, Texas to Oscar and Susie Wagner in 1935, the second of four children. In the 1950’s, the Wagner family moved from the farm life to Fort Worth, and he began his career with Convair (General Dynamics). Bubba was later employed by Bell Helicopter as an aviation electrician and retired with 46 years of service. During his employment with Bell, he also worked part time for Frank Wood Truck Leasing as a diesel mechanic for approximately 20 years. After being introduced through a mutual friend, he met and married the love of his life, Bobbie Joyce in 1957.
After years of city life, Bubba longed to be back in the country so he purchased acreage in Bosque County for weekend retreats. He enjoyed working the land, raising cattle, hunting and getting together with friends and neighbors but most of all he loved providing and caring for his family.
