

On April 2, 1963
O.V. Dickson Jr , was born to O. V. Dickson Sr. and Dorothy May Dickson here in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the second child born to this union. On February 25, 2024, O.V. was called home to glory to be with the Lord.
O.V.’s educational development began at Lollypop Academy and moved on through Dunbar Elementary and Dunbar Middle Schools. Then in 1981 he graduated from Trimble Tech High School.
Although throughout his life he played the guitar and organ and served in ministry at various churches throughout Fort Worth and Los Angeles. He was a member of Golden Gate COGIC until the Lord called him home under the leadership of the late Superintendent L.C. Castleberry, Superintendent Johnny L. Castleberry and His friend and Pastor Cedric G. Harrell, Sr. where he served on the ministerial staff.
While music and ministry were the throughlines of his life, O.V. was a skilled musician ..he was six years old when he received his first guitar. At a very young age O.V. also learned to play the organ, keyboard, trombone, and trumpet.
The first stop and the last stop on his spiritual journey were the same.
Up until his death his mission was to teach and spread the gospel of Christ.
In 1985 O.V.moved to Los Angeles California. In 1989 while still living in California he was also licensed as a Minister of the Gospel. O.V.
In recent years O.V. was blessed beyond measure to write and produce many songs creating a legacy of intellectual property including praise and worship music, gospel albums, and Christmas CDs which can be found today on most music platforms.
After 21 years of committed service, O.V. retired from Fort Worth I.S.D as a school bus driver. Here recently O.V. also attend Tarrant county Community College where he was studying to become a paralegal. He was a good son to his parents Dorothy Mae Dickson Jimerson and his Stepfather Elder Horace Jimerson. He also was a great farther to his son D. J. and the best Grand Pa to Talayeh.
O.V. was known for saying , “O Help me Holy Ghost!”. So we know and believe that All things work together for the good them that love the Lord. We will hold on to his words and ask the Holy Ghost to help us get through this time. He will be missed on the radio program where he produced the Hope in Christ broadcast every Wednesday at 1:00 pm KGGR 1040 am.
O.V. was proceeded in death by his father O.V. Dickson Sr and his Stepfather Elder Horace Jimerson. Left to cherish his memories, are his mother Dorothy May Dickson Jimerson, his only child DeJarian Dickson Graham, his granddaughter Talayeh Graham, her mother Tracey Phillips. His siblings: Shelia Porter, Shelia Pinkston, Lisa Dozier (Richard), Raphael Jimerson, and Ephraim Walton. Nieces and Nephews: Shalatra, DeSha, Rodney Wolf (Ayanna), and host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
