

Pat was born in Fort Worth on May 5, 1941, and lived for many years in Briar.
She loved working in retail at Monnig's and later at Beall's, her engaging personality and flair for style made her a natural success.
The children in the church nursery, whom she kept at her home, loved her, they knew her as “Granny Pat”; always caring for them was her greatest joy.
After losing her husband of many years Jim Rue, she met Chuck who was recently widowed, Together they happily danced through the next 18 years.
She was his joy as they traveled to "gigs" with his band at various nursing homes in the area, on long drives in the country, and at VFW Post 6872 in Crowley, where Pat loved serving in the auxiliary, always with her signature fashion style and playful humor.
After the service, family, and friends are welcomed to the VFW Post on CR 920 in Crowley to share fellowship and memories.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Chuck from Joshua; her son, Randy Rue from Boyd. her sister Bonnie Young of Macon, GA, and her four children Donna Purvis, Ricky Young, Jimmy Young, and Eddie Young from Georgia. Her sister-in-law as well as lifelong friend, Nancy Sockwell of Fort Worth and her children, Tammy Sockwell, Pam Jones and Bobby Sockwell from Texas. Her step-children, Deborah Love; Robert Cooper, Cindy Porter, Kathy Beattie and Karen Brazos (Texas), Diana Crabtree (Colorado), Larry Rue, Garry Rue, Mike Rue, James (Jim, Jr.) , Rue and Terry Rue.
