October 31, 1943 – October 14, 2026
Paul Forbis Brown, 82, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, wisdom, and a lifetime of helping others.
Paul married his beloved wife, Julia, on December 20,1969. They shared more than 56 years of marriage built on love, faith, friendship, and unwavering devotion. Julia was not only his wife but his best friend and constant companion. Together, they raised their three children, built businesses, and shared life’s adventures. Whether working side by side or simply enjoying everyday moments, they genuinely loved being together.
A fifth-generation Texan, Paul was born on October 31, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to his loving parents, George N. Brown and Emma Lou Brown. Raised in North Oak Cliff, he graduated from Sunset High School in 1961 and later studied communications engineering at Arlington State College.
Paul enjoyed a remarkable career in telecommunications that took him around the world. He worked for the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission in Fort Worth, helping produce Christian films and documentaries.
He later joined Planning Research Corporation (PRC), where he designed satellite and communications systems supporting government agencies around the world. He was an integral part of the Y2K preparation and wrote manual communication programs for various military branches.
A certified Professional Broadcast Engineer Paul was actively involved in professional engineering organizations, serving in leadership roles with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
An entrepreneur at heart, Paul also established Communications Consulting Company and later Alliance Voice Mail and Telecommunications alongside his wife, Julia.
Known for his extraordinary intelligence, patience, and ability to solve even the most complicated problems, Paul was a quiet, humble man who could fix anything. His children often joked that they did not even know people hired repairmen because their dad simply fixed everything himself. There was always a project underway in the garage, something being built, repaired, or improved. He especially loved sharing his knowledge, patiently teaching his children, coworkers, and anyone willing to learn.
Paul was a lifelong weather enthusiast and dedicated amateur radio operator, spending decades as a member of the American Radio Relay League: WB5UWS. As a volunteer storm spotter for the National Weather Service’s SKYWARN program, he spent countless hours monitoring storms and reporting severe weather conditions. It was a passion he enjoyed sharing with his family.
A devoted Christian, Paul lived his faith through his actions. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others reflected the faith he held dear. Paul was a loving father and proud grandfather whose steady presence, patience, and wisdom were gifts to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Brown; his daughters, Jennifer Bezner and her husband, Justin, and Barbara Kilobo and her husband, Robert; and his cherished grandchildren, Avery Bezner, Kendall Bezner, and Audrey Kilobo.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Forbis Brown (2013), and his parents, George N. Brown (1984), and Emma Lou Brown (1979).
Paul’s legacy lives on in the knowledge he shared, the people he helped, the faith he demonstrated, and the family he loved so deeply. He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
