Phillip Maurice Walker, affectionately known as ‘Phil’and‘Uncle Phil,’ was the youngest of four brothers. He was born into a God-fearing family on July 27, 1987 in Fort Worth, Texas. He passed away on the evening of Thursday, December 17, 2020, after a brief illness at his residence in Fort Worth, Texas, aged 33 years.
He attended public schools in Fort Worth – Como Elementary School, Forest Oak Middle School and graduated from Green B. Trimble Technical High School in 2005. He received an Associates of Applied Art Degree from KD Studio Actors Conservatory in 2007. This led him to his first acting role as an ‘extra’ on the television series, Prison Break. Phillip had a natural ability to draw and furthered his studies at the Art Institute of Dallas.
Phillip followed in his oldest brother’s footsteps and learned to play the violin. He participated in public recitals with his music class. He was also a member of the Junior Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) during his school years.
Phillip was first employed by Six Flags over Texas in Arlington. He was later employed by retailers Spencer’s then Barnes & Noble for a number of years. His last employment was with Cook Children’s Hospital of Fort Worth. He was a freelance sketch artist, as well as, illustrator.
He was a faithful member of the First Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Cleburne, Texas where his grandfather, Pastor Edward Ingram, served for many years. He was involved in the youth church, drill team, participated and won top places in church oratorical competitions, sang with his brothers and performed monologues during annual talent programs spearheaded by his grandmother, late Sis. Joy Ingram.
His hobbies included drawing (anytime, anywhere), Anime’, playing video games, working out at the gym, supporting his best friend, Russell, in the UFC martial arts training/competition, sword-collecting, attending Comic Can, attending and dressing up for costume parties, hanging out with his brothers and multiple friends, and was an avid fan of reggae artist, Bob Marley.
Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joy Douglas Ingram, Ernest, Sr. and Pearlene Stanley Walker, aunts, Syrena Ingram, Carolyn Ingram Walker, Edna Stanley Burney, and Angela Ingram Christian.
Phillip is survived by his parents, Cynthia Ingram Walker Ejiogu (Paulinus), Edward Walker, Sr. (Michelle), brothers, Edward Walker, Jr. (Montrece), Terrence Walker (Destiny), and Jeffrey Walker, grandfather, Rev. Edward Ingram (Carolyn), step-brothers, step-sisters, and a large host of relatives and friends.
