Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Friday in Roselawn Memorial Park in Mineola. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
Rachel was born April 25, 1923, in Talpa to D.R. "Bud" and Mattie Caroline Arrant. She was the daughter of a traveling evangelist who routinely stopped his homemade mobile home and preached on street corners of the many towns and cities they visited. Rachel was a longtime Sunday school teacher and a gospel singer with different groups throughout her life. She also worked as a receptionist at multiple doctors' offices and was a supervisor for Shaklee Products for many years. Rachel married her loving husband, Donal Ray Branscum, on Sept. 29, 1942. The family lived all over Texas, including Arlington and Tyler. They lived in Mineola for many years until Donal's passing in 1995.
Survivors: Sons, Daniel E. Branscum and Gary Wayne Branscum; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
