Raymond was born on September 21, 1944, in Long Beach California. At 16, he moved to Texas to live with his mother, Martha (Kinkade) Losey, and his half-sisters, Mary and Dora Hickman. After graduating from Alan Military Academy, he joined the United States Navy and served three tours during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Long Beach.
Raymond was a true sailor. He loved his years in the Navy and the sailors he served alongside. He stepped away briefly to earn his college degree, graduating from Tarleton State University in 1972, an accomplishment that meant a great deal to him. He then returned to the Navy and retired honorably as a Petty Officer First Class aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Raymond had many opportunities to advance to Chief Warrant Officer, but he turned them down, telling his commander, "I would rather work with my buddies than bark orders at them."
In 1991, Raymond joined Century 21 Mike Bowman Inc., where he spent 35 years, first as an agent and then as an office manager. He was deeply loved and admired by the many staff members, agents, and managers who worked alongside him.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Cliff Losey; his mother, Martha Kinkade Losey; and his sister, Mary Hickman. He is survived by his sister, Dee; his cousin, Carol Ann Sutton, whom he loved very much; and a host of friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Raymond will be honored with a military burial at sea, to rest beside his Navy brother who served to protect our country.
Fair winds and following seas, Raymond.
