Raymond was born on November 13, 1942 in Orange, Texas to Willie Alvin and Bernice Louise Pate. They later moved to Fort Worth. On March 6, 1964, he married Betty Yvonne Edwards. They raised one daughter, Belinda.
Raymond had a passion for country music. He loved to go to live shows with Betty and Belinda as well as their friends. He was an avid collector of records and also had a large collection of musical instruments, which he played frequently. In his younger years, Raymond loved to work on cars and also liked to build things out of wood; he could fix pretty much anything he put his hands on. He loved to travel. In the early years he, Betty and Belinda went camping to places like Tennessee, Colorado and Florida. Later in life, he and Betty loved traveling to Branson, Missouri and going to the Casinos in Oklahoma and Louisiana. In his spare time Raymond loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He would go out by himself and ride around town.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father Alvin; his mother, Bernice; his sister, Lillian; and two grand dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter Belinda; son-in-law, Miguel; two granddogs; and one aunt and several cousins.
