Reese graduated from Technical High School where he was active in the R.O.T.C. for three years. The Corps helped him learn the value of discipline and hard work. The recipient of a sharpshooter medal, Reese rose in rank to Second Lieutenant of Cadets. Wanting to further his education, he attended Tarrant County Junior College for two years. His civic interest continued when he served as a Reserve Police Officer. Following six months of instruction and training at the Fort Worth Police Academy, he graduated Jan. 24th, 1974 to become a Reserve Police Officer. Reese became a member of the Fraternal Order of Police for many years…In addition to his membership in the Biblical Archeology Society. Reese enjoyed studying God’s word, fishing and building ship/car models. Since he had been building ship and car models from his youth, he had quite the collection. His parents proudly displayed his masterpiece, a sizeable model of the “U.S.S. Constitution”. As far as his fishing skills go, though they didn’t hold places on his mantel…they usually wound up in the frying pan. Reese was a very conscience and dependable person, he worked part-time in several restaurants while still in high school. While he was working with the Fort Worth Independent School District, a friend of his recommended he apply for a job with Texas Refinery Corp. Reese worked for TRC twenty years from 1968-1988. In 1980 Reese accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior while attending Birchman Avenue Baptist Church. In 1981 when an opportunity arose to tour the Holy Land, Reese was first in line! As he found himself oversees in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel, he thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the Holy Land… in addition…he loved making those places he had “read about” come to life!! His most HUMBLING experiences was to actually be in the Garden Tomb of Jesus Christ and being Baptized in the Jordan River. Reese served as a temporary missionary in Brazil for two weeks. The chance to tell the Brazilian people of Jesus Christ was a very fulfilling experience in his life. Although that was in 1984, he held fond memories of such an inspiring trip. In 2009 Reese was blessed to retrace his father, Ralph, footsteps through Europe and saw where he fought in WWII as an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, particularly the finale’ at “The Battle of the Bulge”.
Reese loved music, especially Ricky Nelson, Elvis Pressley, Eagles, Beach Boys, and Chuck Barry. He loved all kinds of muscle cars, in particular the 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra.
Reese had a pure heart, a love for people and family, most of all, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
