Rick gave so much of himself through education and mentoring that created ripples that will continue to shape generations of people. I learned so much from him about how to treat others with kindness while being fair and just. My heart goes out to his family during this time of loss. May you find your way through this grief to remember all of the positive times you had together.

Over 200 feet of fence installed in 4 days with Rick, Dad, Mom and Brenda...  We worked hard but no one harder than Rick.

Rick Edward's hired me in 2002 at KHS. He was a great Principal and an even better human being. He was always willing to go above and beyond to help others. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will be missed!

I'm so sorry to learn of Rick's passing.  Kim Padgett posted the obituary on Facebook, and I just saw it.  Rick was one of the best principals I ever had.  He was fair, and he didn't feel that he was to good to do any job.  He cared for his faculty.  Although I don't get to see him often, I will miss him.

Melinda, Charles, Naomi, and family - I love you and am so sorry Rick passed away. He was so special and I am proud to have had him as my nephew. God blessed us with Rick for 59 years but needed to bring him home to join the heavenly family.  My prayers you find comfort in your memories of your precious time with him.

Mr. Edward’s came to KHS during my time in high school. He was tough and expected the most out of us. I can’t remember why or what we were arguing about but I decided taking his parking spot would be the best idea. (The thoughts of a teenager I guess :) ) he finally figured out it was me and gave me hell about it. Ha! Still thankful he didn’t suspend me! 😂 he was tough on us and expected so much out of us, but he was also fun and showed us kids grace! Thankful for the memories he’s left on me and many of our childhoods! Hugs to his family and friends!

He taught and worked with children who came from homes with dirt floors; he was a tireless advocate for kids and their education.

Praying for you and your family Mallory!! So glad I got to see him recently at the Veterans Day program. We always remember the educators that took the time to be kind and get to know us. Mr. Edward’s was one of the greats.

Rick hired me to work at KHS. He made me feel like KHS was home. He was great leader who touched many lives and had a positive impact on so many.
