Richard David Hernandez Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard David Hernandez Sr., who departed from this life on March 18th, 2025. Richard D. Hernandez Sr. was Born on January 15th, 1948, in Fort Worth, TX.

Richard was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Friend. He loved being outside and loved working with anything mechanical. Richard was known for being a vehicle mechanic in his younger years and passing his knowledge to his family. Richard was also known to work and repair small engines like lawn mowers, weed eaters, bicycles, and small appliances. Richard worked and retired after 27 years at Trinity Industries as a welder. Richard loved telling jokes and funny stories to make others laugh.

Richard is survived by his four children, Laura Hernandez, Richard David Hernandez Jr., Dianna Hernandez, and Jimmie Hernandez; and the mother of his children, Tommie Hernandez. Richard also had fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; as well as, siblings, Catarino Hernandez and Mary Kerlin (Patsy).

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel, and Maria R. Hernandez; brothers, George Lagunas, and Cirano R. Lagunas; sisters, Sarah L. Guerrero, Rose M. Lopez, Victoria H. Ramirez, and Florence Ramirez Medina.
