It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard Louis Monthie, Sr., who left us on October 9th, 2017. Born in Fort Worth in 1954 to Louis and Virginia Monthie, Richard was by many virtues blessed. He attended Rosemont Middle School and graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in 1972 and went on to attend classes at Tarrant County College. He was a dedicated Reserve Fort Worth Police Officer in the 1980’s and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service in 2009. Richard was a fine Christian man, always willing to help those in need, beloved by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor. He was an avid outdoorsman, a smart, savvy businessman, an accomplished mechanic, handyman, cook, and a devoted caretaker. Richard loved the land and enjoyed building and growing the family cattle ranch in Blum, Texas alongside his father. His two sons were his pride in life; he loved and cherished them with all his heart.
He leaves behind a grieving family and a large community of friends who mourn his loss. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Monthie II and Mitchell Monthie, father Louis Monthie, sister Patty Guinn and husband John, ex-wife Paula Smith Monthie and uncle Melvin and Mary Monthei.
And the dust returns to the ground it came from and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
