Richard Philip Oestricher passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 15th, 2023 at the age of 64. Rick was born February 13th, 1958 in Cherry Point, NC to Philip and Patricia (Ratti) Oestricher. Richard, better known to friends and family as Rick, moved as a result of his fathers involvement in aviation until they finally settled in the town of Benbrook, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth. Rick graduated from Western Hills High School and shortly after began working at General Dynamics. While working for General Dynamics and living in Fort Worth he met his wife Kathryn Buelow. The two were married on April 19th, 1986 and were lovingly married for 34 years until her passing on April 23rd, 2020.
Rick was, above all things, a good man. He was a faithful husband, loving father and caring friend. He loved to spend time with his family and traveled often with his wife to any place that they could get to. Whether it was visiting glaciers in Alaska or walking around Israel, he loved to see the world. Rick was a dedicated father who was always there to support and encourage his sons. You could always find Rick in the stands of Ricky and Josh’s football games, from when they were high schoolers playing to adults coaching.
Rick was a man of many talents, hobbies and careers. He was lucky enough to work in many industries that allowed him to incorporate his passions for things like airplanes, motorcycles, and videography. He also enjoyed working with children as a substitute teacher, volunteering at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, and riding motorcycles with his friends.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Patricia Oestricher and his wife of 34 years Kathryn Buelow Oestricher. Rick is survived by his two sons, Richard “Ricky” Oestricher and wife Alison of Plano, and Son Joshua Oestricher and wife Heather and grandson Rory of Fort Worth.
Rick is also survived by siblings Linda Furlet and husband Brooke of Plano, brother John Oestricher and wife Lisa Ross of Garland, and sister Laurie Oestricher of Venice,Florida. Rick is also survived by loving partner Debra Purnell.
