I was deeply saddened by the passing of Brother Rickey Stokes. He was a huge part of my life, especially during my childhood. As a youth pastor, he was more than just a leader—he was a father figure and role model for me and my siblings.

With a home life that wasn’t always stable, I always looked forward to going to church because of Rick. His kindness, guidance, and the way he cared for us made all the difference. He left behind a host of fatherless children from the neighborhood whom he mentored and guided when no one else could be there. His impact on their lives, and mine, is immeasurable.

Even now, I think of Brother Rick often. He was a great man, and I feel blessed to have known him. His legacy of compassion, wisdom, and love will continue to inspire all of us who had the privilege of being touched by his life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who mourn his loss.

I just learned of Rick's passing. Rick was such a positive role model for the boys & always so kind. He will be missed by many! Prayers to his family, church friends and boys who will miss him deeply. My favorite memory with Rick was helping the boys with back to school uniforms & school supplies and Christmas presents! He was always so selfless and wanted the best for the boys!

I'm so sorry to hear about Rickey's passing. I worked with him for years at the USPS. He always had a smile on his face and was warm and friendly to everyone he met. He will be missed. My condolences and thoughts are with his family in this time of loss.

To the wonderful family of Bro. Rickey,

He was a wonderful and caring youth pastor that was there for so many kids and anyone else that needed a word of encouragement. Thank you for being a father figure, a positive role model, and someone who not only taught the kids the word but also showed them the word of God in action. He was a hard worker and he always provided food, shelter, transportation, fun activity, help with homework, going up to the school if there was a problem, and just giving his all for the youth. Bro. Rick, thank you for being instrumental in my own children's lives as they were growing up. That was an answer to me and my husband's prayers. Thanks for all the memories, as we hold them dear in our hearts...for we shall meet again. We love you my brother.

Brother Rickey was my youth minister since I was 6 years old and this year I'll be 35. He taught me practically everything I know about the word of God and he did so for my son's as well. Although I didn't see this coming I am not sad because I know he made it home. I learned my very 1st bible verse at his vacation bible school... Jesus wept John 11:35,R.I.P Bro Rick, you'll forever be missed....

I have been knowing Brother Rick since I was 17 years old, I am now 35. He helped my family by taking in all my brothers and my boys cousins into his boys home when my grandmother couldn't take care of all of us, living in poly. Because God blessed him into our lives, the boys in my family turned into great men! They all graduated high school, went to college or the military and are now responsible young men. Brother Rick also helped me with my 3 sons. That's two generations that was blessed by Brother Rick. I will always love him. He didn't have to do anything he did for us. He was truly an angel. We will miss you so much. RIP. Till we meet again...

Rick was a great guy and I will always remember what he has done for my family. He kept in touch with our family. Really sad because i didnt see that coming. Praying for your family.

I worked with Rickey at the post office. He always seemed to have a smile on his face thru the good and ruff times. He was always working hard to help the boys in his ministry.   I have lost touch with Rickey since I retired 3 years ago and I was shocked to see this in the paper. My prayers to all.

To Pat and family.  Grace and mercy has  escorted Rickey to the arms of God. The pain and suffering is over for him now. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all in this time of grief, just know he is smiling that gorgeous smile now. Remember him with joy.

Rickey was a friend, classmate and co-worker. WE go way back even though we lost touch over the years I always remembered him throughout the years. We worked together at Sirloin Stockade in Corsicana and had some fun times along with another friend, Greg Perkins who is also deceased. 
We spent time together over the summer along with our friend Melanie Evans and his cousin Curtis who would visit from Ft Worth. Good times!! Rickey was one of those friends who you never forget. May you rest in peace.

Rickey was a great man of God, an encourager, a teacher, a perfectionist, a creative genius, a talented singer, a giver, a father to so many children who he raised as his own, and so much more! He will greatly be missed. He was my youth pastor and watched me grow from a baby to a woman. He always made sure we knew the word of God and instilled the scriptures in us at a young age. He made it fun and would reward us with prizes and games. He was very talented and just had so much creativity inside of him. He would put on plays for us at church and he was also over the youth and adult choir. Rickey brought out the best in all of us. He was the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back. He was very witty and had a big personality. I will miss his sense of humor as well. I became the choir director in his absence but he always would text me to encourage me and he always pushed me even when I wanted to give up. He is with the Lord and I am comforted with that knowledge that he is now being rewarded for all the many things he did while on this earth. Rest in Heaven Rickey and we will always love you. Thank you for all you have done for us. We will never forget you.

Rickey was a very nice person , we went to elementary and High School high together.  well when we were in elementary I remember him helping me with some lessons tutoring me you might say Ricky was one of the A student in our class. My deepest condolences to the family
