

Robert "Bob" was the second-born of Hugo Johannes Anderson and Signe Wilhelmina Larson Anderson of Washington Depot, Conn. Bob was born in New Milford, Conn., on June 25, 1929. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.
After college, Bob entered the Marine Corps and served in Korea leading maintenance activities on military airplanes. He was honorably discharged after the war at the rank of first lieutenant. After serving in the Marines, Bob worked his entire career in the defense industry at Consolidated Vultee Aircraft, which later became Convair, General Dynamics and, ultimately, Lockheed Martin, where he retired after 41 years. He worked as a propulsion engineer on the Atlas intercontinental ballistic missiles, but spent the bulk of his career designing and building military aircraft, including B-36, YB-60, B-58, F-111, F-16 and the national aerospace plane.
He met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Glasco, and they were married Dec. 1, 1956, at Ridglea Methodist Church in Fort Worth. They were happily married for over 55 years until her death in 2012. Both were members of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth.
Survivors: Sons, David Hugo Anderson of Lake Oswego, Ore., Steven Robert Anderson of Cedar Park; daughters-in-law, Susan Anderson and Natalie Anderson; his wonderful grandchildren, Reid, Ragen, Fletcher and Carina; older brother, Carl Andrew Anderson and wife, Wanda, of Virginia; and younger brother, William Richard Anderson and wife, Kathy, of Connecticut.
