Robert L. Smith

Robert Lee Smith was born on September 6, 1941 in Longview, Texas to the parentage of Tee and LuDora Smith. Robert was educated in the Longview Independent School District and graduated from the Longview Negro High School.

Robert met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Ernest M. Smith in Cleburne, Texas in 1973. Robert worked for the city of Fort Worth for many years and retired as a supervisor. In his spare time, he love playing 18 holes of golf. Robert was a active member of the Beth Eden Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Daniels, Sr for 47 years. He served on the food bank, maintenance and held a position as a Deacon.

On December 8, 2020 God dispatched an Angel to receive Deacon Smith from this earthly realm to his new home over in the realms of Glory. He is preceded in death by his son Michael Smith. Those who are left to cherish the memories of Robert are his wife, Earnest Mae Smith; children Latanya Malvern and Terrence Clemons; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
