Robert was born in Madisonville, TX to H.W. Whitehouse and Shirley Whitehouse on December 11, 1962. He went to high school at Eastern Hills High School and graduated in 1981. He went on to join the U.S. Air Force after graduation and served his country for 4 years. He worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for American Airlines for 38 years. He was an active donor to Tunnel to Towers, an organization that has been helping America’s heroes since 9/11 by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star veterans and fallen first responder families. He received the Air Force achievement medal for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered specifically on behalf of the Air Force.
Robert met the love of his life, Christi Ann Peters in 1989 at Christi’s co-ed softball game. Excited to start their lives together, the two were married on August 17, 1991, in Euless, TX. The two couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. They have a daughter, Taylor Marie Whitehouse and a son, Colton Alexander Whitehouse. Robert will always be remembered for his enjoyment and talent for grilling, playing card games with his family, vacationing with his wife, watching Gold Miners and the Food network on TV, and spending quality time with his grand-pets. The wisdom he passed along to his family will forever be remembered.
Robert is survived by his wife, Christi Whitehouse; his daughter, Taylor Whitehouse; his son, Colton Whitehouse; and his daughter-in-law, Meghan Whitehouse.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations made to Tunnel to Towers, www.t2t.org.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mansfield Fire Department at Station 2, Kennedale Fire Department for their timing and professionalism, as well as family, friends, and coworkers for their love, support, and prayers.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and always dear.”
