Rod served in the U.S. Air Force during Desert Storm and was awarded the Airman's Medal for saving a family from a burning home. He will be best remembered as our rock. He took care of all of us and his loss will be felt every day by everyone who knew him.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Graciella.
Survivors: Parents, Robert and Maria Alvarado of San Antonio; brothers, Robert, Michael, Leonard, Michael and Robert Alvarado; sisters, Tina, Melissa and Donna; wife, Karen Alvarado and their daughters, Tiffani and Lisa Alvarado; his sons, Aiden and Brandon Alvarado; grandchildren, Anastasia, Danyelle, Amelia and Devin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
