Ruth Kathleen McCaskill, better known as Kathy, was born on February 22nd, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Ray and Lillian McCaskill. Kathy and family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when she was about 5 or 6 years old. Her childhood years could have been the model of growing up in the 50s and 60s with Lill fitting the stereotype of June Cleaver. When Kathy was about to enter the 6th grade the family moved to Cheyenne in western Oklahoma. It was during her teenage years that she found her love of education. She loved school and everything connected with it, including extra-curricular activities.
She was 17 when she married her childhood sweetheart Bill and soon after started raising their family. After Bill returned from Viet Nam she began working for Conoco and started a career in the oil and gas industry.
Kathy and Bill parted ways and in later life she found her soulmate, Hugo. They married in 2000 and lived a full, rich life together until pancreatic cancer took Hugo to be with his Lord in August of 2019.
Kathy’s lung cancer appeared for a third time in 2020 and finally took its toll in 2021.
Her relationship with God was solid and she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church in 2019. Due to COVID, she attended worship services via livestream.
Preceded in death were her parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving are her brother Norm and wife Sue, daughter Kelly and son-in-law Jake, son Billy and wife Lorri, son Thom, granddaughter Elise and husband Willie, great-grandchildren Weston, Wayden, Wylin, and Emmy, granddaughter Darcy and husband Wade, and grandson Jake Hunter and fiancé Maddy, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Other survivors are Roger, Jo, and Natalie Davenport who reside in the United Kingdom and Spain.
Also surviving is her beloved cat Soxx who gave her comfort right up until the end.
Kathy loved her Lord and found comfort in the fact that she would one day be with Him and her beloved Hugo.
