

Samira courageously made her way to America on her own on March 17th, 1974. Samira married Edward Abraham on May 16th, 1974. On June 7th, 1980 she gave birth to her daughter, Rasheda. They lived in Adrian, Michigan until 1984. The family later moved to San Antonio, Texas where they began a restaurant business.
After moving to Waco, Texas in 1987, Samira worked at Baylor University for twenty years, where she touched the hearts of many, many students. Samira loved being involved in various organizations. She volunteered as a CCE teacher at St. Louis Catholic Church. Samira enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends.
In 2008, Samira moved to Fort Worth to be closer to her daughter’s family and grandchildren. She worked at Baylor Grapevine Hospital as a supervisor for housekeeping. She once again made an impact on those she met and created numerous friendships.
Samira was working at UTA up until her death. Samira was a hard worker, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister, an amazing cook, and a wonderful friend. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was contagious. Her journeys through her life made her who she was.
On February 10th Samira departed this life to be with her savior. She is survived by : her daughter Rasheda Contreras and her son-in-law Beau Contreras; her grandchildren Elise and Trenton Contreras; four siblings; Sal Koussa, Joe Koussa, Souad Jabbour, and Veno Jakubowski: and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
