She was born in Magnum, OK on October 16, 1944. Later moved to Arkansas where she lived with her family until she was 10. Her family was then relocated to Clovis, New Mexico where she met who would later be her husband. She was married to Jerry Hay on August 18, 1962 and immediately moved to Ft Worth, TX where they eventually raised their 2 children. She was a member of the Crowley Book Club and attended First Christian Church of Burleson. She had a passion for God, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She loved her 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She fought a long battle with COPD and more recently Lung cancer.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Wheeler; son, Steven Hay; sister, Linda Ray; and granddaughter, Brandy Hay.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hay; daughter and son in law, Patti and Robert Barnaby; sister and brother in law, Carol and Dan Gustafson; grandchildren, Frank and Melinda Pecorino, Casey and Ricki McKnight, Stacey and Gary Hay; great grandchild, Sterling McKnight; along with many nieces and nephews.
The memorial will be held later on August 13, 2022 at First Christian Church Burleson at 11:00 AM.
