Shelia Lofton, age 58, of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Sheila Faye Lofton was born November 17, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas to her parents Ethel and Willie B. White. She confessed her belief in Christ Jesus at an early
age and attended Strangers' Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Attended schools in Fort Worth and Dallas. She graduated from James Madison High School in Dallas in 1979.
During her youth, she worked in various cleaners but after receiving a scholarship to the University of Houston. Sheila received a Degree in Education and taught school for thirteen years.in the FWISD.
Sheila joined The Potter's House Church, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Senior Pastor. In1998 On December 24, 2000, she married Ronald Lofton. She served on the Sales team, Guest Services, a Participant in God's Leading Ladies and a Deacon's wife. For a brief period, Sheila attended Greater Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Marlin, Texas. She served as Assistant Announcing Clerk, Mission sister, and Deacon's wife.
Sheila was co-owner of Donald Lofton Cement Contractors, a CMA/CNA, a Substitute teacher, Mary Kaye and Avon Consultant and Walmart cashier. She works at Elmwood and Golden Years Nursing Homes. As a Substitute teacher, she was awarded "Substitute of the Year". For a brief period, she worked as a School Crossing Guard.
After fighting the good fight, finishing her course, and keeping the faith, Sheila left from the Church Visible to the Church Triumphant early Saturday, January 4, 2020, to receive her crown. She was proceeded in this transition by both of her parents.
Loved ones who will cherish her memories and legacy are devoted husband, Ronald, son, Lamon (Latashia), sisters, Diane (Tom), Brenda (David), JoAnn (Al), brother Darrell (Doris), aunts, Marilyn (ken), Wilma, step-father, Tommy Burkley, grandchildren, Kymble, Nassir, Samiya, Lyric, great-grandchildren Kadrian Matter, Karter, dedicated niece nad nephew, Tashia and Antwain, cousins, Gladys, Janice, sister-in-law, Deanne Clark, plus numerous relatives, and friends.
