

Shelton D. Riley, Sr., 88, left for his heavenly home on Friday, February 17th, 2017 of a brain tumor. Graveside: 10 am Wednesday, February 22nd at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, February 21st at Laurel Land Funeral Home. He was born on August 8, 1928 in Picayune, Mississippi, to the parents of Jewell and Alice Riley, and he grew up in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. Mr. Riley was a veteran of the Korean War, and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired from FWISD and worked as a security officer at the Medical Plaza in Fort Worth. He was a member of Southwayside Baptist Church, and later Stadium Drive Baptist Church, both of Fort Worth. He is preceded in death by his parents Jewell and Alice Riley; brother, Robert Riley; and son-in-law, Michael Floyd Survivors: Shelton leaves behind his wife of 65 years Jerlean (Dot) Riley; son, Shelton Jr. and wife Diane Riley of Fort Worth; daughters, Debra and husband Ricky Farrell of Aledo, and Pamela Floyd and boyfriend Paul Garrett of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Krista and husband Mark Shelley, Jennifer and husband Mike Lambert, and Wesley Farrell, all of Fort Worth, Shelton Baker of Tulsa Oklahoma, Matt and wife Amy Stout of Washington, and Nathan and wife Candice Stout of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Aaron Shelley, and Aurora (Rory) Lambert. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and Senior Citizens of Wedgwood Baptist Church.We would like to thank hospice for the care he received. Your kindness and support to our dad will be forever in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
