Shirley Attended the Public School System in Karnack and upon relocating to Fort Worth she matriculated through the school system in Fort Worth and graduated from The Historic I.M. Terrell High School Class of 68.
Shirley was gainfully employed for many years at Nash Manufacturing until they closed and she continued employment with CKC Packaging and retired in 2016.
Shirley was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church under the Leadership of the Late Dr. Gregory W. Spencer and followed his leadership to The Church at Philadelphia under the Leadership of Bishop Ontario Jones until her health started to fail.
Shirley loved gardening in her spare time, watching The Young in The Restless, Bold and the Beautiful and sitting in her favorite chair playing various games.
On January 21, 2021 at 1:42 a.m., God saw fit to remove this beautiful flower from the Garden of Life.
She is now reunited with her Parents Willie and Annie, her Spouse Thomas Carr, Sr., Grandparents J.B. and Tenzie Webb, her brother Willie J. Black, her sister Kathryn Moore Lane.
Shirley leaves to cherish her precious memories the loves of her life: Daughter Davina Black, Son: Thomas Carr, Jr. (Ashley). Brothers: Willie (Verna), Curtis (Lillian), Harold (Mary), James (Linda) and Charlie. Sisters: Geraldine Allen, Glenda Thomas (Elmo), Peggy Black, Cathy Everett, and Jackie Black. Grandchildren: Ashley, Felesia, Sidney, Katelynn, Nathan and Ayden. A very Special Aunt Lucille Black, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
