Sonny was one of a kind. He always took time to check on everyone just to make sure they didn’t need anything. Sonny loved his Cowboys, his Texas Rangers, NASCAR, and would never turn down another camo shirt! Christmas was his favorite time of year, he loved being able to give gifts to everyone, and never expected anything in return. Sonny loved to shop; he would shop til’ he dropped! He had a lyrical gift that was truly unique…he always knew just the right song for the occasion. The way you knew that he cared about you was when you were given your nickname. We all had our own, and they were bestowed upon us with love.
He is survived by his mother, Charlie Jean Wheat, sisters, Monya Henson and husband Dennis, Debra Murray, and husband Robbie. Nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces. Numerous cousins, multitudes of friends, and hundreds of people that have been touched by meeting Sonny over the years.
Sonny is preceded in death by his father, Farris Page Wheat, stepfather Dean Scruggs, and brother Farris Hugh Wheat.
He was loved by all. Sonny will truly be missed.
