Stella Swinney "Mama Joe" passed away Monday October 23, 2017 she was 100 years old. Celebration of Life: 10 am Monday October 30, 2017 at Laurel Land Main Chapel. Visitation: 3 pm to 5 pm Sunday October 29, 2017 at Laurel Land. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Wonderful mother, grandmother and a one of a kind mother-in-law, who was loved by all, and who always opened her door and arms to anyone. She is preceded in death by parents, Bill and Sarah Elizabeth Asher; husband, Papa Joe Swinney; children, Elizabeth, Eddie Whitehead, Marcell Swinney; and 12 siblings. Mama Joe is survived by daughters, Patsy Stephenson, Jean Talley; sister, Opal Tumlinson; daughter-in law, Ann Whitehead; grandchildren, Floyd, Stella, Tommy, Noble, Charity, Gary, Kim, Jody, and Keri; and numerous great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
