A Visitation will be held at Laurel Land – Rose Hill Funeral Home, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112, on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life starting at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Laurel Land – Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Randy was born March 5, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Billy Alexander Mason and Theola Inez Woodall Mason. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1966 and Texas Wesleyan University in 1970 with a BBA in Marketing. He married Debrah Louise Bauman on June 5, 1970.
His work career began at Montgomery Wards as a Management Trainee. He soon took a position as Buyer at Edison Jewelers. He eventually moved to JVC Electronics as sales representative to the US military bases through AAFES from Texas to North Dakota. His next promotion was as International Sales rep, and he traveled to the military bases in Germany, Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. The following years took him to various retail stores as a rep for many different electronics companies.
Randy was a people person and a great salesman. He could always converse with anyone, including customers, employees, friends, and family, and never met a stranger. A proud member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, he loved Mexican food, The Beatles, and capturing family memories on camera. He was quick with a joke and always made people laugh. Making time to care for and serve others and valuing faith and family were trademarks of his life.
He was a faithful Christian, having been raised at the Polytechnic church of Christ. He became a charter member of Brentwood/Bridgewood church of Christ in 1969. Together, he and Debbie taught the 4 and 5-year-old Bible class on Wednesday nights and served in the puppet ministry in Children’s Bible Hour on Sunday nights. He also served as a church deacon and volunteered with the Pack the Pantry ministry. Randy was an advocate for blood donation and volunteered with Carter BloodCare. His health began to decline quickly in 2025, and he was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Debbie; daughters Melanie Malone and her husband Michael, Monica Bryant and her husband, Clint. He was proud to be called “Grandy” by six precious grandchildren, Diego and Marlowe Malone, and Corynn, Sydney, Paxton, and Everett Bryant. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Zoe Ann Mason, and brother-in-law, Bill Bauman, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie, and in-laws Del and Harriett Bauman.
We wish to thank Visiting Angels, Arbrook Plaza Skilled Nursing, and Wings Over Texas Hospice for their care this last year.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington Animal Services, Alzheimer’s Association, or Carter BloodCare.
