

Mr. Sullivan James, Sr. was born May 16, 1948, in Woodville, MS. to the union of the late Mr. Aaron James, Sr. and the late Oleatha James. He transitions peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in his home surrounded by loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Oleatha James and Aaron James, Sr. and Niya'Lynn James (Granddaughter).
Sullivan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, August 1990 at Mt. Everest Baptist Church, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he grew in the word of God. He became a Sunday School Director and a Deacon. He serviced as an associate pastor at Suburban Baptist Church of New Orleans, LA for three years. He was called to be a Mission Pastor at Greater Mt. Rest Mission Church from 1998-2005. Sullivan had a mission mind to help anyone he could. From early on he had a heart to help those in need. This led to his homeless Ministry in Fort Worth, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his precious wife, Deloris James, his children, Annie S. Williams (Lorenzo) of Arlington, Texas, Debra Lawson of Byron, MS, Michael Travis (Pam) of New Orleans, LA, Curtis Travis of Fort Worth, Texas, Terri James, Sullivan James, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Karin James and Adrain Taylor of Huston, Texas, Robyn James Mack of Rayville, LA.; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Aaron James (Gail) of Ruston, LA. Mozette Payne (Marilynn) and two sisters, Doris James, Audrey May Mcintyre (Billy); and a host of nieces, nephew's other relatives and friends.
