Superintendent John Hamilton Lee

John H. Lee, a minister of the Gospel, retired pastor of Compassionate Church of God in Christ for over 50 years and superintendent in the Church of God in Christ, went home to be with the heavenly Father on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, a few days shy of his 102nd birthday. "Servant of God, well done."

Service: A service of jubilee will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Cathedral, 3201 Purington Drive, Apostal Sherman C. Gee Allen, gracious host, officiating, chief officiant Bishop David R. Houston, presiding prelate of Texas Northeast 2nd Ecclesticial Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ. Interment: Garden of Memories in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: Friends of Superintendent John Lee may visit 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors. At 7 p.m. Friday, family and friends will gather at the Rolling Hills Church of God in Christ, 4545 S. Riverside Drive, for a time of reflection, Elder Robert L. Jordan gracious host and Superintendent Dr. J Glenn officiating.

Survivors: Left in the caring hands of the Almighty are his loving and devoted daughters, Mary Helen Rigsby, Doris Jean Hawkins, Claudia Jo Jordan (Elder Robert L.), AnnSharon Lee, Ella Louise Coaster, Delesia Washington, Debra Tutt (Richard) and Trecina Hutchins (Leon); 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
