It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Susie Kathleen Johnson Stewart, who left us on September 30, 2026, at the age of 77. She was a beloved wife and mother, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born on February 8, 1949, in Tucson, Arizona, Susie was the child of Louis and Edith Eveleen Eggerman. Throughout her life, Susie was known for having multiple careers, social work being the most important to her. She also worked for Southwestern Bell as a cable locater, repair person and eventually moved to management teaching classes to fledgling phone companies. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work and was certified as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She was most proud of her accomplishments in treating trauma victims with the Women's Center of Tarrant County.
Outside of work, Susie devoted her time and energy to painting, playing piano, various craft projects, and also participated in several mission trips with the First Baptist Church of Arlington, although she always said she didn't have to be a missionary to help others.
Susie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ken Stewart, and siblings Bonnie Weaver and her husband Joe, Annie Ellis and her husband Mike, and twin brother Sammy Eggerman. She is also survived by her children, Lonnie Hugh Johnson III and wife Jeanne, Jeff Johnson and wife Melissa, Jamie Johnson and Collin Tanner. Susie has two grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and Stephanie Johnson, one great-granddaughter, Anne Marie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Eggerman and Edith Eggerman and sister, Edith Lou Bach.
