Suzanne Henriette Valat Wells born May 22, 1929 in Le Bousquet D’Orb, France to Adolphe Francois Marius Valat and Marie Jeanne Antoinette Pedoussat passed away peacefully on July 19, 2021 at the age of 92.
After completing her primary education, she moved to Grenoble, France where she completed Hotel Management School. After school, her and two of her friends were sent to London, England to expand their English. Upon returning to France and being a multilinguist, she was soon employed by American Express Bank to work at their facility at the Air Force Base in Chaumont, France. There she met the love of her life, Charles Edmond Wells and would later marry on October 17, 1953.
After the birth of their three children, Suzanne dedicated her life to the raising of their children. As a military family they traveled the world, living in France, Spain, Louisiana, Florida, South Dakota, and finally Fort Worth, Texas where they settled for the rest of their lives.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, playing Scrabble and Yatzy, an avid Jeopardy fan, and spending time with her French friends as part of the Ladies French Club.
She is survived by her husband Charles E. Wells of Fort Worth, TX, son Jerry Wells (and wife Deborah) of Frisco, TX, daughter Monique Wells of Austin, TX, daughter in law Jackie Wells of Fort Worth, TX, four grandchildren: Amber, Andrea, Robert, and Daniel, and five great grandchildren.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents and son Robert Wells of Fort Worth, TX. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Upon her husband Charles’ death, they both will be reunited at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX as their final resting place.
