OBITUARY

S.W. Williams

August 30, 1944March 11, 2020

S. W. Williams was born on August 30, 1944 to John Henry and Parlee Williams in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the only son, joining older sister Johnnie Ruth. They were later joined by younger sister Delores "Dee Dee" S.W. Attended The F.W.I.S.D. including James E. Guinn and I.M. Terrell High School. In his younger years S. W. loved playing basketball, riding bikes, working on cars, playing cards and shooting pool. S.W. was baptized at an early age at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth. On December 30, 1967, S.W. married the love of his life, Marilyn Jean Williams. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Patrice and Shelly. S.W. and Marilyn were a constant pair until his call to heaven. They were active member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Fort Worth for many years where S.W. was ordained as a deacon under the leadership of Reverend Harold Fort. They later joined the First Greater New Hope Church, where S.W. continued his service as a deacon. S.W. and Marilyn joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington in 2003 where they have served faithfully under Reverend N.L. Robinson and Reverend J.P. Thompson, Jr. There, S.W. shared his love for singing in the Mount Olive Male Chorus. S.W. was a dedicated employee at various companies, including Chicago Pneumatic Tools, Cascade Linens, The City of Fort Worth and Well Machinery, He later gained employment with TU Electric/Oncor Gas and retired after 36 years of service. S.W. was well loved by so many and he will always be affectionately remembered as "S", "Daddy", "Paw Paw", "Uncle Bubba", "Bugler", "Big Giant", "Willie", "Big S" and "Sweetie". He shall forever be remembered in the hearts of his loving wife Marilyn of 52 years; daughters, Patrice Matthews (Michael, Sr.), Shelly Tatum and Sherion McGinnis; grandchildren, Jonathon Ellis Michael Matthews, Jr., Sydney Tatum and Courtney Tatum; sister Delores Williams; nephew Wendell Williams and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
