RoseMarie Thea Askew was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Thea will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of Harold & Rosel Pfau.
Empathic and loyal, Thea was committed to making her new family happy.
Thea worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Thea was blessed with one child, Jennifer (Jenny) Ward. Another blessing for Thea was the gift of three grandchildren, Jesica, Jaime, and Rose.
Fortunately, Thea enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Thea worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was an Executive Assistant. She was employed for many years with Williamson & Dickie Company. Thea always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Howard worked many years providing for his family. In his free time, he loved to hunt, and loved to fish. Howard & his friends would go hunting, and Thea and Jennifer would go to K-Mart , shopping for Christmas decorations, but never left without getting nachos from the in store concession shop to complete the trip.
Thea enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were camping in the 5th wheel with the love of her life, crossword puzzles, monthly Girl's Nights, playing Bunco with her group of friends, going to garage sales, & spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren, baking shortbread cookies & playing games with them. Holidays were her favorite time to bake all of the greatest German desserts in the world. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Thea found pleasure in sports. Thea was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were the Dallas Cowboys. She was an avid Cowboy's fan, and wouldn't miss a game! Her husband Howard, cooking game day meals were a must. His Chicken Enchiladas and guacamole on game days were always expected.
Thea loved to cook and equally so,loved to eat. She loved fruit and dark chocolate as a snack, but Howard did 90% of the cooking.
Thea could be found spending endless hours tending to her garden & flower beds. You would see her seated on the riding lawn mower making sure to care meticulously for the 2 acres she and Howard called home.
Simply stated, Thea was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Thea leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Thea Askew.
Thea Askew, age 71, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. Thea was born April 29, 1950.
A visitation for Thea will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land FH - Ft Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
