A Time of Beginning………Born in the city of Pickton, Texas on October 19, 1939 to the proud parentage of Theodore and Herma Lee Pruitt.

A Time of Education ………She was reared in the New Hope Community of Wood County, Texas where school in Quitman, Texas. and received her formal education, graduating from W.B. Clark High in Quitman, Texas.

A Time of Religion…………She accepted Christ at an early age where she began her spiritual journey with New Hope Baptist Church, Pickton, Texas and continued to serve faithfully until her death at the Greater St. Stephens First Church.

A Time of Love ………………At a special time in her life, she met and fell in love with Mr. Roosevelt Blackmon, Jr. They were married on November 16, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas and shared over forty-eight years of wedded bliss. In this union, two daughters were born.

A Time of Work ……………She graduated from Madame C.J. Walker Beauty School in Tyler, Texas and worked in this industry until she retired.

A Time of Departure………On Thursday, January 14, 2021, Mrs. Theda Francis Blackmon went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Herma Lee Pruitt, her husband of forty-eight years, Mr. Roosevelt Blackmon, Jr. and her brother, Mr. Howard Eugene Pruitt.

A Time of Memory……………She will be forever remembered in the hearts of her loving daughters, Shoneth Johnson and Adriene Tuggle (Lex) and four grandchildren: Tevin, Jacoby, Brentney and Omarion, all of Fort Worth, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
