Tommie Ruth Snider

Tommie was born on September 5, 1934 in Elk City, OK to Jabas Otis Cartmill and his wife Vera Dallam Wann Cartmill.

She came to Fort Worth TX as an eight-year-old girl after her Dad began work at Convair (The Bomber Plant) now known as Lockheed. She lived in Liberator Village until the family moved to Hanon Drive in White Settlement. She graduated from Tech in 1952 before White Settlement had its own high school. She loved to roller skate at the Silver Wheel. She married Ferral Van (Moon) Snider 11/21/54. Tommie & Moon bought a home on N Roe St in White Settlement in 1956 and that is where she resided until her passing on April 11, 2019. Tommie cherished the role of wife, Mom, and especially Meme. She also worked outside the home over the years in many jobs including manager of The Coffee Shop for Leonard Properties, Stripling & Cox, Lunch Lady at her daughter’s school, as well as a couple of stints at General Dynamics/Lockheed retiring from there in the mid-90s. She enjoyed retirement using the time to keep up with family & friends. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior & was of the Baptist faith, most recently a member of First Baptist Church of White Settlement.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, J.O. & Vera Cartmill, a brother Dickie Cartmill, an infant son, Lloyd Dan Snider & her husband of 42 years Moon Snider.

Survivors: Brother, Elwin Cartmill (Judy), Son, Lewis Snider (Renee), Daughter, Lori Snider Laird (John), Granddaughter, Krystal Barrows (Pete), Grandson, Justin Laird (Rebekah), Great Grandkids, Hunter Laird, Kyndale, Khrystian, & Dakota Gilmore, Emily & Nate Barrows. Many nieces, nephews, & cousins. Friends more numerous than stars in the sky.

I have known Tommie for years.
Edwin was in our wedding.
So many memories of good times!
Never knew real name of "Moon," just
Moon. Cartmill family was "top drawer!" Will miss Tommie.
