He graduated high school and went on to complete two years of college. Tommy was an outgoing child, teen, and adult. He loved water skiing, riding his motorcycle with his biker friends, and riding in the Toys for Tots Bike Ride. He loved to travel to Hawaii, where he surfed on Oahu at the North Shore and Waikiki. His last trip was to Colorado.
Tommy had many friends where he worked at Baumann Springs for over 18 years. Even though Tommy was Maintenance Department Manager, he believed in always helping others. The people he worked with were very special to him and they became a second family. It was evident he was loved and well respected.
Everyone that crossed Tom’s path was accepted and loved as they were. He never expected anything out of anyone that he wouldn’t expect from himself. He was a man of character who loved deeply and played hard.
Tommy was also known as the second dad of the neighborhood. He would sit on the front porch, let the dogs play in the yard and watch out for the kids in the neighborhood. The kids will all miss him greatly and he will miss them as well.
As you can tell, those involved in Tom’s life was family to him. He loved them and they loved him. Our lives will never be the same, but we will always have our memories of those times with him.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Homer Raydean West; his grandparents, Homer and Ruby West; his grandmother, Ollie Watkins. Many uncles and aunts.
