Torri Jerron Walker Sr. was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Raymond Rhodes and Carolyn Walker in 1972. He attended Fort Worth Independent School District and graduated from Trimble Tech High School Class of 1990. He accepted Christ at an early age at Guiding Light Baptist Church and later joined Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church. Torri was a gentle giant, with a heart of gold. He was caring, loving, supportive, and generous. Torri would give you the shirt off his back. He considered everybody his friend. Torri was passionate about giving back and he made it a yearly event to feed the homeless during the holidays. He had a contagious smile and personality that would light up the room whenever he entered. His love for family and friends showed in every aspect of his life. Torri was the epitome of selflessness and generosity. Torri wore many hats and names given to him by his family and friends. Just to name a few, Eugene (given to him by his Uncle Joe), Big Toots, Big Boy, Big Poppin' or Poppin' Fresh. He was always the life of the party and loved to entertain as well as dance. As a kid, Torri was actively involved in sports such as football, baseball, basketball, track and field and his favorite NFL Football Team was the Seattle Seahawks. Later in life, he became a world traveler. Torri was employed by the Oilfield and relocated to West Texas. Because of his determination and drive, he later became his own boss, owning his own businesses: TJW Consultant Group, TJW Holdings, and Water Grind. He served as the lead server at Red Lobster for many years, which inspired him to open his very own restaurant, Poppin Fresh BBQ & Soul Food. He was very excited about his restaurant.
