Troy Lee Bartley, 82, of Fort Worth left this earthly world and passed on to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 16. Troy fought a long brave fight against many health issues including Congestive Heart Failure, diabetes, kidney issues, and cancer.
Service: 10 am Monday August 20, 2018 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 3 pm to 5 pm Sunday August 19, 2018. Interment: 2 pm at Vaughn Cemetery in Hillsboro, Tx.
Born January 7, 1936 in Cleburne, Texas to P.E. Bartley and Bessie Norine Williams Bartley. Troy was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Abbott High School in1955 where he was an outstanding athlete. Troy attended Texas A& M. He married the love of his life, Sammye Jo May, in June 1957. God and family were top priorities throughout their 61 years of marriage. Troy worked in the technology field for several companies including: General Dynamics (Lockheed), FFP Partners and Texas Turnpike Authority before retiring in 1998. Troy also owned and managed many rental properties.
Troy was preceded in death by both of his parents, P.E. and Bessie Mae Bartley, and all of his siblings.
Troy is survived by: wife, Sammye Bartley; son, Charles Bartley and wife, Toy; daughter, Debbie Braudaway and husband, David; Grandchildren: Tobi Farris, husband Kevin, Clint Bartley, Amanda Hopkins, husband Doug, and Aric Braudaway, wife, Chelsea as well as 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many long-time friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the following healthcare professionals and their staff: Dr. Charles Carlton, Dr. Steve Simpson, Dr. Sandeep Shori and Harris Hospital Emergency Department and the Heart Center as well as the caring Vitas staff.
