Tyrone Sedric Darling Jr.

Tyrone Sedric Darling Jr. was born on January 19th, 1992 in San Antonio, Texas to Lytia Smith and Tyrone Darling, Sr. Within months of being born, his mother Lytia dedicated him back to God. Shortly thereafter, Lytia would meet and marry Michael McGee Sr. who embraced, loved and raised Tyrone as his own. He attended elementary school in the San Antonio Independent School District. In 2002 the family moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where he would then finish his schooling in the Arlington Independent School District, graduating from Juan Seguin High School in 2011. Tyrone’s exceptional performance on the football field opened the door for him to receive an offer for a full ride scholarship to the University of El Paso, which was one of his biggest accomplishments.

In 2012 Tyrone welcomed his first child and only daughter, Ta’Lia. He would eventually welcome to the world his sons Tyrone Darling III in 2014, Tru in 2016, and Mikalen in 2020. Tyrone loved his children dearly and would sacrifice himself continuously for them. He enjoyed spending time with his children. Some of his and their happiest moments were spent together.

Tyrone left an impression on many people throughout his life. Teachers, coaches, teammates, co-workers, family and friends will always remember his infectious smile, his fun-loving personality, and his goofy ways. He was especially good at brightening up someone’s day and making them laugh. One of his favorite things to do was freestyle rap. Tyrone loved sharing his talent of freestyle rapping by uploading and sharing his videos on his social media. One thing we all knew was that if food was around, Tyrone was not too far away! He LOVED food. He LOVED to cook, and he would pretty much eat anything; expired or not. And if you really know him, you know his love for movies and constantly quoting lines from his favorite movies.

Tyrone is preceded in death by his father Tyrone Sedric Darling Sr.;Grandfather Darrell Lee Childs aka Big Dad, Uncle Thomas Bonner aka BonBon and Uncle Kevin Bennett.

Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Lytia and Michael McGee. Children: Ta’Lia, Tyrone III, Tru and Mikalen. Siblings: Whitney, Michael Jr. and Thomas. Grandmothers: Deborah Childs and Evelyn Darling Washington. Aunts who he loved dearly: Jodi Gardner, Wanda Marvin (John), Andrea Clark, Sherall Bonner, La’Tonya Childs, Chanell Bonner, Terrie Bennett, Breonna and Brittney Childs and. Uncles: Robert and Anthony Washington His nephew, Elias. Girlfriend whom he adored, Ahshionna. Close Cousins who were more like brothers Tesfu Jr., Joshon, Shon, Preston Jr. along with younger cousins Deondrick, John Jr., Terry Jr., DaSean, Isaiah, Dallas, Jeremiah, Dillon, and Anthony. Very close girl cousins Jasmine and Tierra along with younger cousins Kaitlyn, Paris, Lauryn, Aniyah, and Za’Niyah. Also a host of paternal aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
