Lovene was born April 30, 1921 in Grapevine. She was a homemaker and later a receptionist at Cox's Beauty Salon. She loved her garden and especially growing roses and Iris. She was a member of Handley Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by son, Mike Cox; and daughter, Kathy Teague.
Lovene is survived by daughter, Sherma Simon; grandchildren, Tammy Hernandez and husband David, Kim Maglietta and husband, Mark, Shane Skinner and wife, Mandy, and Megan Simon; and 5 great grandchildren.
