Vera V. Richardson was born the first of nine children on March 29, 1931 in Blum, Texas to the parentage of Oscar and Artillary Jordan. Vera grew up in Hillsboro and later moved to Fort Worth in 1967. Also in that same year, Vera married the love of her life, Roosevelt Richardson.
Vera worked for Grant Bowie in Hillsboro and Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth as a dietician where she retired in 1991. She was the proud mother of two boys, Anthony and Tommy Jones whom she loved with all of her heart. Her pride and joy were her grandkids who she was affectionally known as "Big Mama". Vera was a very faithful and active member of the Stuart Chapel CME Church for 40 years, She loved and served as a Missionary, Stewardess and Church Mother under the leadership of Pastor Larry Jargon. Vera is welcomed home by her husband, Roosevelt Richardson; father and mother, Oscar and Atillary Jordan and her 8 siblings.
It was on March 28, 2021, Vera heard and answered to the Master's call from labor to reward. The legacy and precious memories will forever burn aflame in the hearts of her children, Anthony (Gwen) and Tommy (Donna) Jones; 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
