

Vineta Carolyn (Carol) Alexander Baker passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Service: 12:30 PM Wednesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 5-7 PM Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rendon Cemetery. Carol was born in Asher, Oklahoma to Sam Arnold Alexander and Mabel Adelaide Farley Alexander. She was raised in Fort Worth mostly by Jim and Emily Turpin. On February 25, 1955 she married Don Baker in the Tarrant Road Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Mills. The couple honeymooned in Monterrey, Mexico. Carol loved children, the couple share four. Her first job out of high school was at an Insurance and Investments firm on 7th Street downtown as a stenographer. She continued her work as a stenographer at Consolidated Vultee Aircraft. Her career also took her to the Child Support Division of the State of Texas two separate times, first as a secretary and then as an office manager. The couple has resided in Rendon area over 55 years on acreage purchased back in the 60's. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Don Baker; son, Bobby Baker and wife Cindy; daughter, Toby K. Langford and husband Steve; son, James Baker and wife Shelli; son, Jack Baker and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Ashley Gaither and husband Grant, Jeremy, Sarah, Lindsey, Alex, Chelsea Arceneaux and husband Arlen, Jessica, Sierra; great grandchildren, Savana, Austin, Perrine, Grant; extended family and dear friends.
