

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Walter N. Gonzagowski, who left us on December 9, 2025 at the age of 86. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Walter touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
Born on January 31, 1939 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Walter and Cecelia Gonzagowski. He made his home in Mansfield, Texas for 50 years. Walter proudly worked as a Teamster, hauling cars for Jack Cooper Transport for 34 years until retiring in 2011. He served in the Army for six years, spending time in Germany. He found joy in motorcycles, camping, traveling with his wife, and exploring the country in their UTV. He cherished the friendships he made along the way and loved taking his grandsons to motorcycle races while celebrating his granddaughter's love of horses and rodeo.
Walter will forever be loved and remembered. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Gonzagowski; daughter and son-in-law Leighann and Billy Spence; stepchildren and their spouses, Scott and Cynthia Anderson, and Alan and Kris Anderson; grandsons Kevin, Sean, and Eric Anderson; granddaughters Nicole Confar and Hadley Spence; sister Rose Marie Stoklosa; and many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cecelia Gonzagowski.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Walter Gonzagowski's life on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 am, to be held at the Chapel of Chimes, 7100 Crowley Road Fort Worth, TX 76134. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Walter N. Gonzagowski's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization that coordinates annual wreath laying ceremonies at veterans' gravesides.
