

She was born in Erick, Oklahoma, to Elzert Cicero Carter and Sara Elizabeth Duncan. She was preceded in death by her siblings John “J.E.” Carter, Ernest Carter, Richard Carter, Larry Carter and Cicero Carter. She is survived by her brother, Bobby Ray Carter and her sisters, Linda Truesdell and Carolyn Hernandez.
Throughout her life, Wanda was married three times and was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnnie Morale, Roy Adams, and Mr. Ward.
She was preceded in death by two of her children, Vicky Lynn Reeves and Tom Leroy Ward. She is survived by her sons, John Quincy Adams and Russell Wayne Adams.
She also leaves behind a large and extended family who will carry forward her memory. Her grandchildren include Courtney Marshall, Zachary Adams, Tyler Adams, Lisa Ward, Christopher Lyon, and Kimberly Lyon. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren: Jack Marshall, Duncan Marshall, Waylon Adams, Sunni Adams, Beaux Adams, Dawson Adams, Brantley Adams, Paisley Adams, Remi Grace Adams, Kaitlyn Rabey, Kassandra Lyon, Peter Lyon, Helen Lyon, Esther Lyon, and Thomas Lyon.
Wanda spent her working years employed at various banks, where she built a steady and dependable career. She lived life on her own terms, guided by independence and a strong sense of self.
She enjoyed dancing, visiting WinStar, and listening to classic country music. Her favorites included Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, and Elvis Presley.
She will be remembered in her own way by those who knew her, and her life remains part of the story of the family she leaves behind.
A private service will be held by the family.
