William Calvin Carr

William “Buddy” Calvin Carr, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on July 5, 1953, in Milledgeville, Georgia, to Robert Irwin Carr and Mary Agnes Shubert of Macon, Georgia. Buddy made Fort Worth his home in 1983 and spent the next four decades building a life and raising his family there.

Buddy was a man who understood hard work from an early age. After his father passed away, he began working while still young to help support his family. That responsibility shaped the man he became. He worked hard, worked long hours, and took pride in being someone who could provide and take care of the people who depended on him.

He was also a proud United States Marine. Serving his country was one of the accomplishments he carried with him throughout his life, and his work in motor transport for the Marines was particularly meaningful to him. After his honorable discharge, Buddy continued his career in the transportation and trucking industry, working as a loader operator and truck driver for companies including Troxell Trailer and TXI.

Outside of work, Buddy enjoyed the things that brought him competition, excitement, and time with the people he loved. He was an avid bowler, softball and baseball fan, golfer, and casino enthusiast. He especially loved watching his beloved Atlanta Braves. One of his proudest memories came through bowling. Buddy and his teammates made an incredible run in the TBCA National Playoffs, finishing 8th out of 170 teams. Their unexpected success earned them the nickname “The Cinderella Team.” It was an accomplishment he was extremely proud of, and a story he loved to remember.

He worked hard. He served his country. He competed. He laughed. He took chances. He loved his family. He loved his Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.

And he lived life as Buddy—in a way that was uniquely his own.

The people who loved him will remember his stories, his personality, his stubborn determination, his love of sports, his work ethic, and the memories he created along the way.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Diane Carr; his parents, Robert Irwin Carr and Mary Agnes Shubert; his brother, Earl Eugene Bennett; and his sister, Rebecca Hazel Bennett Gideon.

Buddy is survived by his daughters, Ashley Liz Enriquez and her husband, Adrian Enriquez, Olivia Whatley and her husband, Mark Whatley, and Tiffany Fowler; his son, John “Brent” Brenton Honeycutt; his brother, Grady Marwell Bennett; and his sister, Elaine Catherine Kopanski. He is also survived by many of his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will remember him and the life he lived.

Semper Fi, Buddy. You will be missed but never forgotten.
