Ed was a proud patriot who served in the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant in Air Craft Mechanics and bravely served in the Vietnam War. While Ed may have retired his military uniform, the love he had for his country was endless.
Ed had a passion for animals, and loved his many pets over the years. He was a loving and caring husband to his wife, Gena, for 54 years. Ed’s daughters were the lights of his life, and his granddaughters his pride and joy.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and his first baby girl, daughter Elizabeth Jean. He is survived by his wife Gena (Loizides) Schmaus; daughters Angela Schmaus-Eason (husband Daniel) and Amy Schmaus; granddaughters Paige Eason and Harper Garrett; siblings Becky Schmaus (partner Anne Marie), Sonja Wagener (late husband Gil), and Charles Schmaus (wife Sharon); and many nieces, nephews, and family members whom Ed loved dearly.
Visitation for Ed will be Sunday, November 13th from 11AM-1PM at Laurel Land , with a Celebration of Life followed at 2PM at University Baptist Church, 2720 Wabash, Fort Worth . We invite all who knew and loved Ed to join us as we gather to remember and honor his life.
Ed will be buried with honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
