

Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Graveside Service at 3 P.M. Saturday, February 24, 2018. Pastor John Messmann will be officiating.
Bill was born on October 19, 1931, the only child of Dr. William E. Schulkey, Sr. and Helen M. Schulkey in San Angelo, TX. After graduating from high school, Bill attended Texas Christian University, until he enlisted in the Army in 1951 serving in Germany for three years. After returning to San Angelo he married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Ann Jones. They moved to Austin and had a daughter, Gretchen in 1957. Bill then graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Geology and moved his family back to San Angelo where they had a second daughter, Rachel in 1961. In 1967, Bill took his family to Fort Worth to begin a lifelong career as a Petroleum Landman. He and Peggy worked side by side in later years as Independent Petroleum Landmen.
Bill enjoyed fishing and shooting sports as well as horseback riding. He attended the men’s Bible study group at St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Helen Schulkey and wife Peggy Ann Schulkey.
Survivors: Daughter and husband Gretchen and Tilden L. Childs, III, MD, grandsons Tyler and wife Lauren Childs, of Dallas and Benjamin Childs of Austin; daughter and husband Rachel and J. Michael Griffith of Springtown, granddaughter and husband Camille and Kelly Hartley, great-granddaughters Lily Hettinger and Aubrey Hartley of Decatur; granddaughter Emily Griffith and fiancé Alexander Knoll of Huntsville; nephew and wife Kevin and Karla Oquin and their children and grandchildren, of San Angelo; Nephew and wife Terry and Jamie Oquin of Fairhope, AL.
