Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Leon was born in April 1926 to Ollie and Friendlar Martin Monk in Fletcher, Okla. His family remembers him as a loving husband, daddy and better known as "Pop-Pop" by his grandchildren.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 63 years, Mozelle.
Survivors: Those left to cherish his memory are children, Judy Cayey and husband, Jim, Leon Monk Jr. and wife, Johnnie, Pam McLaughlin and husband, Cary; grandchildren, Carrie-Anne Stanglin and husband, Allan, Paul Rowland, Robby Rowland, Clayton McLaughlin, Andrea McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Valerie and Carley Stanglin, Destiny, Cayson and Desiree McLaughlin, Chance and Chloe Dieterich, Little Robby Rowland; sister, Patsy Bevill; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
